A Lake Charles man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly shooting someone following an early morning fight, authorities said.
Adam Caesar has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, illegal use of a dangerous weapon and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, said police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Keenum.
Keenum said the victim drove to Caesar’s house and they got into an argument.
“The victim and Caesar had a fight the night before over narcotics and money,” Keenum said in a news release. “During Wednesday’s argument, Caesar pulled out a handgun and shot at the victim. As the victim ran away, Caesar continued to shoot. One of the shots went into an elderly woman’s home, nearly striking her in the head while she was watching television.”
Keenum said the alleged incident took place around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of 11th Street and Eighth Avenue.
Judge Wilford Carter set Caesar’s bond at $55,000.
Detective Colby Thompson was the lead investigator in the case.
