PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A reception for two Lake Charles artists and their exhibit will be held on June 30 at The Texas Artists Museum, 3501 Cultural Center Drive.

The multi-media exhibition of the paintings of Anne Dentler and Nancy Czejkowski, which began June 1, ends July 15.

Dentler presented her latest works in watercolor and oils, with a special exhibit of repousse, or embossed metal. Her copper works depict Louisiana birds, farms and swamp scenes. Her works have earned national and regional awards that include “Artist of the Year” from the Gateway Foundation, “Art Patron of the Year” from the Times of Southwest Louisiana, Lake Charles Mayor’s Office’s first Keystone Award and the Lake Charles Children’s Museum “Imagination Award.” She has illustrated many books and has written and illustrated her own text, “Portraiture in Plain Language.”

Czejkowski works in various media and exhibited acrylics, oils and pastels, which depict abstracts, flowers and landscapes. Her awards include a recent first place in “Works Behind Glass” in the Lone Star Art Guild’s regional juried competition at the Creative Arts Center at Gallery by the Lake in Lake Charles. She is presently coordinating a workshop in September with oil painter Scott Mattlin of Denver to be held in the Creative Arts Center.

Czejkowski is the secretary and curator of Gallery by the Lake and a member of Associated Louisiana Artists, the Nederland Art Guild and Real Art DeRidder.

Both artists’ work can be viewed online at http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/gallery-by-the-lake.
