A 24-year-old Lake Charles woman has been charged with four counts of child desertion, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Terri D. Harrison, 2018 Denise Drive, was arrested on Friday.
Deputies discovered four small children — ages 6, 5, 4 and 1 year old — were left unattended inside the home," Myers said Monday in a news release. "Harrison, the homeowner and family member of the children, returned home a short time after deputies arrived. When deputies spoke with Harrison, they detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from her breath and confirmed she had left the children unattended."
Myers said the children were removed from the home and placed with family members. Judge Wilford Carter set Harrison's bond at $1,000.
Detective Cinnamon Salvador was the lead investigator.

Title: Desertion
There are too many families in the world who are unable to have children. When I see an article such as this one it makes me sad to see someone who has the ability to have children to mistreat and abuse them. Its a sad world and I don't feel like it is going to get better with people such as this that would leave their children alone for abuse, kidnapping or harming their ownselves. God Bless the children.
