A 25-year-old Lake Charles man in jail in connection with the Feb. 24 burglary of a Sulphur business is facing more charges after authorities said they found stolen property at his home.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said David B. Parker Jr., 2734 Opelousas St., was re-arrested Thursday and charged with three counts of illegal possession of stolen items over $1,000.

“On Feb. 6, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Investigative Unit received information regarding possible stolen property Parker’s home,” Myers said in a news release. “Upon arrival, detectives spoke with Parker and received consent to search his home and recovered over $20,000 worth of items that had been reported stolen from three separate homes in 2012, including a zero-turn lawnmower, a tractor, brush hog, and a utility trailer.”

Judge Clayton Davis set Parker’s bond at $7,500.

Detective David Doucett was the lead investigator.
