A 55-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with two counts of cruelty to the infirmed, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Ray A. Leger, 1101 Third Ave, was arrested on May 3 and then again on May 18.
Myers said Leger has been accused of slapping an elderly family member on two separate occasions.
Leger’s first bond was set at $180,000 by Judge Michael Canaday. While still in jail, Leger was rearrested and charged for the second alleged incident. That charge carried an $50,000 bond, set by Judge Clayton Davis.
Detective Michael Primeaux was the lead investigator on the case.
