A Lake Charles man accused of taking six people hostage in August pleaded not guilty in district court Monday.

Joshua Jermaine Plumber, 26, entered the plea at his arraignment at 14th Judicial District Court.

A trial date of June 24, 2013 was set.

Police said Plumber held three adults and three children hostage for four hours at a home on Denise Street following a fight with his girlfriend on nearby Susan Street.

Police said there was no relationship between Plumber and the six.

Plumber, who faces a total of 15 counts, is being held on a $137,000 bond. He is charged with six counts of false imprisonment, home invasion and second-degree battery.

A pre-trial conference of Jan. 3, 2013 was set for a DeRidder man charged with having sexual contact with juveniles.

Darren J. Racca, 42, 5117 La. 110 E., is charged with seven counts of sexual battery, one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of cruelty to a juvenile.

Authorities said the accused man had sexual contact with an 8-year-old male family acquaintance.

Racca also faces three counts of aggravated incest and three counts of cruelty to a juvenile in relation to accusations that between 2004 and 2005 he forced a 7-year-old girl to perform sexual acts on him.
