Laek Charles summer camp sessions open for registration

The City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department is currently taking registration from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., 3rd floor, City Hall, 326 Pujo St., for three fee-assessed summer camps, each of which will occur in four different sessions, the first beginning June 3.

The “I Spy Lake Charles Camp” will take place at Henry Heights Community Center, 801 E. School St., and will provide educational field trip experiences including visits to City parks, a water park, local museums, and other attractions.

Camp participants of Summer Camp 2013 at Drew Park Community Center, 416 Dr. Michael DeBakey Drive, and University Center, 1001 Central Parkway, will go on field trips (the location of which will vary depending on the number of children attending each session), play games and more.

All three camps will provide participants with a daily breakfast and lunch.

There will be four sessions: June 3 – 14; June 17 – 28; July 1 – 12 (no camp July 4); and July 15 – 26.

The fee for each session at each location is $100 per child, ages 6 – 12 only.

Camp is 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
