The trial of man who police say killed his wife was continued until April 29.
Dale Winters, 39, is accused of shooting his 30-year-old wife, Michelle Mitchell, during an argument in their East Prien Lake home on June 7, 2011.
Authorities said Mitchell sought help at Louisiana Chiropractic and Wellness Center across the street.
Winters’ attorney, Andrew Casanave, said he filed the continuance because he has another murder case that he expects to go
to trial Monday.
The case of a man accused of child abuse was delayed until
May 28 because his attorney was unavailable, said District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Holly Carter.
Mitchell Crador was charged with three counts of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile in June 2011 after his infant child was found to have skull fractures and retinal hemorrhaging.
The case of a Calcasieu Parish sheriff’s deputy accused of having child porn was reset for Sept. 23. Robert Faulk Jr., a nine-year veteran of the force, was arrested in April 2010.
Detectives reportedly found videos of child pornography on his home computer.
