Last Modified: Tuesday, March 11, 2014 1:04 PMSouthwest Louisiana residents can fill out a brief online survey that will provide feedback on the potential impact from projected job opportunities and growth within the region.
The survey is available on the Southwest Louisiana Task Force for Growth and Opportunity, or Go Group, website, www.gogroupswla.com. Responses from the surveys will be included in the Regional Impact Study conducted by engineering, architectural and program management firm CSRS and funded by Sasol.
The survey asks residents if they see an impact on the region’s quality of life, given the anticipated growth in jobs, investment and residents. If so, they can specify and rank which areas will be impacted, including education, housing, transportation, public safety and others.
Dane Bolin, director of the parish Office of Juvenile Justice Services, said the survey gives residents the chance “to share their thoughts on the future of our region.”
District 14 Calcasieu Police Juror Hal McMillin, said the study is “very important to the future of Southwest Louisiana.” McMillin is also chairman of the Go Group.
“As with anything we do in life, communication is key,” he said. “We’re trying to err on the side of over communication and get everyone to participate.” Bolin said the survey will be online for at least one month.
