Jennings shooting suspect arrested

Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s office investigated a shooting incident that occurred on January 5, 2018 in the parking lot of Bayou Mart, located on Hwy 101 in Lacassine.
A victim was shot in the arm with a 9mm pistol. Deputies arrived on the scene shortly after but all parties had fled the location.
Surveillance footage from the store alerted deputies to a trash can outside the store where the weapon was disposed of by the suspect.
The victim was later located at Lake Charles Memorial hospital, he was treated and released.
The suspect was identified as Chad Michael Touchet, 17, of 119 Frank street, Jennings, LA. Touchet turned himself in today at the Sheriff’s office.
He was booked on charges of obstruction of justice, Illegal carrying of weapons, and Illegal possession of stolen firearms. Touchet is held with no bond.
