JENNINGS — A Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy resigned Monday after he was arrested early Saturday by Jennings police on a driving while intoxicated charge.
Ryan Gary, 25, who had been with the department for almost five years, was off duty and driving a personal vehicle when the incident occurred, according to police.
Gary was charged with DWI and careless operation after a traffic stop around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Cutting Avenue.
He was booked into the city jail and later released, according to police records.
Gary had worked in corrections for the sheriff’s office.
