An 44-year-old Iowa man has been arrested after beating and biting his girlfriend, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman James McGee said Nathaniel J. Edwards was arrested without incident Saturday following an argument Friday night.

“Edwards bit off a portion of the victim’s finger and struck her in the face, severely damaging her front bottom teeth,” McGee said in a news release.

Edwards was charged with second-degree battery and released after posting a $25,000 bond set by Judge Robert Wyatt.

• Joshua S. Dubroc, 39, 7028 Rue Renard Rouge, Iowa — aggravated battery, domestic abuse battery with strangulation, simple kidnapping. Bond: $50,000.

• Charles Paul Messina, 43, 627 Evans Road, Sulphur — sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Bond: $55,000.

• Willie Lee Monceaux, 37, 1317 E. Burton St., Sulphur — creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory. Bond: $25,000.

• Christy Lynn Thibodeaux, 41, 141 N. Hudson St., Sulphur — two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, first-offense marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $21,000.

• Carson Heath Knippers, 44, 130 N. Aracobra St., Sulphur — drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $21,000.

• Jose Rodriguez, 39, 2122 Kathy Drive, Sulphur — violation of protective orders. Bond: $10,000.

• Ronald Alen Brock, 18, 24125 Pitre Road, Welsh — two counts of simple burglary, two counts of theft under $500, illegal possession of stolen things. Bond: $9,500.

• James Wayne Carey, 22, 3936 Wright Road, Sulphur — drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-offense marijuana possession. Bond: $7,000.
