JENNINGS — An investigation into allegations of misconduct by two Fenton Elementary School employees is near completion.

Sheriff Ivy Woods said Monday investigators are wrapping up interviews with witnesses, including several juveniles.

Once completed the investigation will be turned over to the District Attorney's Office for further review and possible criminal charges being filed.

The Jeff Davis Parish School Board went into executive session last Thursday to discuss investigative proceedings regarding the allegations, but took no official action on the matter pending the outcome of the investigation, according to District Attorney Michael Cassidy.

The two employees, who have not been named, were placed on administrative leave with pay in September after a complaint was filed with the Sheriff's Office. The complaint involved allegations of inappropriate contact between the school employees and several students.

The incident allegedly occurred off campus during the summer break and involved older students from another school in the parish, according to School Superintendent Brian Lejeune.

Specifics surrounding the case are not being disclosed pending the investigation.
