Calcasieu Parish grand jurors declined to indict a man Thursday accused of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection with a June 14, 2012, shooting on North Cherry Street.

Lionel Jacoby Rubin was accused of killing 23-year-old Shane Landry and wounding a 62-year-old woman.

Grand jurors previously indicted Rubin in July of 2013 on both charges.

“A main witness did not identify Rubin,” Holly Carter, a spokeswoman for the Calcasieu Parish District’s Attorney, said.
