The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a freeze warning for all of Southwest Louisiana.
The warning will last from 11 p.m. Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday and includes southeast Texas.
The NWS said that the lows will be from 28-32 degrees and the freeze could last 3 to 5 hours, depending on the location.
Residents are advised to bring pet indoors for the night and to cover plants.
The NWS also warned residents to use caution when heating their homes.
• Heating units should be kept 36 inches away from anything that can burn.
• Turn it off all heaters and extinguish all fires when leaving the house or going to bed.
• Never use flammable liquids to start a fire.
