Fourth of July closures announced

No city trash or garbage pickup will be made in Lake Charles on Thursday, July 4. Pickups normally done on Thursday will be done on Friday; pickups normally done on Friday will be done on Saturday.

All recycling stations, including the Team Green truck and the incinerator, will be closed Thursday. Operations will resume Friday. All other city departments will also be closed Thursday. Regular hours will resume Friday.

Both of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s solid waste drop-off centers will be closed Thursday, July 4. The centers — at 5500 Swift Plant Road and at 2915 Post Oak Road, Sulphur — will reopen Friday. Hours are 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Waste Management and Jim Bill will make scheduled garbage pickups Thursday.

All parish departments will be closed Thursday and will reopen Friday.

All Sulphur city offices will be closed Thursday, July 4. Trash collection will not be interrupted.

Calcasieu Parish Public Library branches will be closed for Independence Day on Thursday. Materials may be returned in drop boxes at each library.

All Louisiana state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5, and will reopen Monday, July 8.
