Four people have been charged with simple burglary and theft under $500 after allegedly stealing items from a storage building in Sulphur, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said 30-year-old Richard L. Gallier, 41-year-old Tiffany M. Derouen, 37-year-old Jeremy M. Perry and 33-year-old Angela D. Perry were arrested on Monday.
Gallier and Derouen live at 7803 Lorrain Road in Iowa, while the Perrys live at 523 W. Burton St. in Sulphur.
“At approximately 2 p.m., deputies were dispatched regarding a complaint of a suspicious pick-up truck at the storage building,” Myers said Wednesday in a news release. “Upon arrival, deputies observed a truck matching the description attempting to drive out of the parking lot. Deputies observed numerous items, including bed frames and weight equipment, in the back of the truck.
“When questioned, all four confirmed they burglarized a unit at the storage building and stole the items located in the back of the truck.”
All items were recovered and returned to the owner.
Detective Glenn Lowery was the lead investigator.
