The former fire chief of Allen Parish Fire District 3 faces charges of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile, authorities said.

James Leroy “Rusty” Young, 40, of Mittie, was arrested late last week as a result of an investigation by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office, officials said.

Authorities began investigating after they received a report from a victim, said Chief Criminal Deputy Joe Toler.

Young remained jailed Friday on $50,000 bond, Toler said.

He was dismissed as fire chief this week by the fire board, authorities said.

Fire District 3 is in Grant.
