WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say 10 soldiers from Fort Polk in Louisiana escaped serious injuries when their Humvee crashed on the grounds of the U.S. Military Academy.

West Point spokesman Frank DeMaro says Wednesday that the soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division’s 3rd Squadron, 89th Cavalry, 4th Brigade were riding in the vehicle around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when it rolled over in a field off Route 293.

The official says nine soldiers were treated at local hospitals and released. The other soldier was expected to be released Wednesday from Westchester Medical Center.

The soldiers are supporting cadet summer training at West Point, 50 miles north of New York City.

Most of the 10th Mountain Division’s troops are based at Fort Drum in northern New York.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
