The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office will have extra details out tonight, officials said.

Eight extra units will be out focusing on holiday drinking and driving, according to James McGee, enforcement commander with Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Office will also be employing 12 reserve units to handle fireworks complaints, McGee said.

He said the Sheriff’s Office often calls in reserve units to help during busy times of the year, such as Contraband days. On New Year’s Eve, they "come in and give their time and handle firework complaints."
