For Jessica Rawlinson, Wendi Richard and Ashleigh Menard, being foster moms just wasn’t enough.

So three months ago, the ladies of Everything Grey hit the ground running — and at a speed of 40 mph to be exact.

Everything Grey is a haven for retired racing greyhounds. The nonprofit group operates in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

Its purpose is to help transition retired racers into loving family pets and find loving homes for them.

“We just want everyone to love them as much as we do,” Richard said.

In just three months of operation, the haven has found homes for four retired racers. It has three dogs that are looking for a home and will be receiving four more in days to come.

“Greyhounds just love to be loved,” Menard said. “You just become a greyhound person whether you want to or not as soon as you meet them.”

“They are loving, loyal and compassionate,” said Rawlins. “They know what you are thinking and are sensitive to your feelings. This is why they make great service and therapy dogs.”
