NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Winter will sweep into Louisiana Tuesday on strong north winds, with temperatures below freezing predicted for all but the southern extremities of the state.

National Weather Service forecasters say an Arctic cold front will push southward over the course of the day, producing gusty winds.

Temperatures are expected to fall below 32 degrees before dawn Wednesday and Thursday in parishes north of Interstate 12 and Interstate 10 west of Baton Rouge.

Winds are expected to settle down Wednesday and temperatures will begin warming again Thursday.””
