NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A St. Charles Parish man has been charged with producing and distributing child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Dana Boente says a bill of information filed on Monday charges 28-year-old Chad Michael Hotard, of Luling, with two counts of production and one count of distribution of child pornography after he allegedly recorded a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct on two occasions in 2012, then circulated the images.

If Hotard is convicted of the crimes, he could face up to 30 years in prison for each count, a fine of $250,000, supervised release for life and sex offender registration.
