NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Sen. Mary Landrieu is recommending that President Barack Obama appoint Walt Green as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana. Green has been acting U.S. Attorney in that Baton Rouge-based federal district since Donald Cazayoux (KAZ’-uh-yoo) stepped down from the post in July.

In her announcement Tuesday, Landrieu noted that Green has served over the last 15 years as assistant U.S. Attorney for the criminal division in Nevada, Deputy Criminal Chief and First Assistant U.S. Attorney in Baton Rouge, and, now, as acting U.S. Attorney.
