Lake Charles shooting suspect remains at large

Authorities on Monday were still searching for a Lake Charles man accused of shooting to death a fellow patron of a local nightclub early Sunday.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said Jordan Mikole Davis, 23, 1835 Rena St., is suspected of killing 33-year-old Quincy James Lede, of Lake Charles, around 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of The Keg, a nightclub located at 4010 Goodman Lane, on the east side of Lake Charles.

The club was still packed at 4:30 a.m., said Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Lt. Les Blanchard, who added, “We know there were many witnesses to the incident.”

He said anyone who witnessed the shooting or knows the whereabouts of Davis is encouraged to call authorities at 491-3605 or at Crimestoppers (439-2222).

Blanchard said Lede was shot once in the chest.

Davis has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Davis was previously convicted on a drug charge, Blanchard said.

Detectives were working to see if Davis remained in the area, Blanchard said.

CPSO has been called to The Keg 70 times over the past year, Kim Myers, CPSO spokesperson, said. She said calls have been varied: they range from narcotics, illegal weapons discharge, noise disturbances, theft, to suspicious vehicles, persons or circumstances.””
