LAKE CHARLES (AP) — State police are investigating a fatal two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on La. 3256 in eastern Calcasieu Parish.

Troopers said a motorcycle operated by 25-year-old Zachery David Manuel of Lake Charles was traveling east on La. 3256 and began to pass three vehicles Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. James Anderson says the lead vehicle driven by 37-year-old Belinda D. Chapman of Lake Charles was turning left into a private driveway when the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of her vehicle.

Anderson says Manuel, who was wearing an approved helmet, was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
