A Lake Charles man was indicted Thursday on an attempted murder charge.

The grand jury returned a true bill against Javonti Ikem Landry, 18, for attempting to kill a 22-year-old man on Dec. 14.

Police said they responded to reports of gunshots or a vehicle crash at the corner of Sixth Avenue and 12th Street.

Police found shattered glass but no vehicles; later investigation of a person being treated at a hospital after his window was shot out led police to Landry, authorities said.

Landry is being held on $250,000 bond at Calcasieu Correctional Center.
