A 20-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with aggravated battery, armed robbery, aggravated assault, simple criminal damage to property and two counts of domestic abuse battery, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman James McGee said Steven W. Sturlese, 2500 Smith Road, Lot No. 63, was arrested Tuesday morning.

“Deputies were advised Sturlese, ex-boyfriend of the victim, entered the victim’s home and demanded money,” McGee said. “When the victim refused, Sturlese grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the bedroom where he began striking her, causing her head to go through the wall, and also put a knife to her throat.
