Officials with L’Auberge Casino Resort unveiled 750 newly renovated rooms to the public Tuesday.

The $20 million project began in December. During the first quarter of 2013, room access was down 16 percent as work progressed.

All of the rooms include new amenities like flat-panel televisions, luxury bedding, pillow-top mattresses and carpeting.

Keith Henson, the resort’s senior vice president and general manager, said the work ensures the property will remain a top destination resort in Louisiana.

“This is phase one and was a rip and gut. We renovated 750 of our 1,000 rooms,” he said. “After the summer season the goal is to begin phase two and renovate suites.”

A price estimate has not been completed for the next phase of updating.

Rooms are now divided into two categories: Royale and Marquis Suites, which are bigger than the luxury rooms and have better views of the region. Suites have refrigerators, single-cup coffee machines, makeup mirrors, and complimentary robes and slippers.

“These rooms were designed with a focus on guest comfort with a unique blend of casual elegance and world-class amenities,” Henson said in a news release. “Coupled with top-name entertainment, non-stop gaming action, boutique shopping and award-winning dining, this extensive hotel renovation continues our focus on creating memorable experiences at L’Auberge.”

In 2005 the resort opened with 750 rooms, with an additional 250-room tower built in 2008.””
