A former Allen Parish fire chief accused of sex crimes involving a juvenile in Beauregard Parish could face more charges in Allen Parish after a similar complaint was filed there.

Sheriff Doug Hebert III confirmed Wednesday that Allen Parish authorities are investigating a complaint involving inappropriate text messages, but said no charges have been filed pending further investigation. The complaint was made after similar incidents were reported in Beauregard Parish.

James Leroy “Rusty” Young, 40, of Mittie, was arrested April 5 by the Beauregard Sheriff’s Office on charges of computer-aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile. He remained in the Beauregard Parish jail Wednesday on $50,000 bond.

Young was a part-time paid fire chief for Allen Parish Fire District 3 in Grant for six years. He was dismissed from his post last week after his arrest.

Chief Deputy Joe Toler said authorities in Beauregard Parish began investigating Young earlier this month after a female victim reported she had inappropriate contact with Young.

Authorities reportedly seized several computers from the fire station, along with Young’s cellphone, to be analyzed as part of an investigation involving several agencies.

It is not known if Young used the department’s vehicle to meet the girls, Toler said.””
