Dry Creek man charged with rape, battery

A 21-year-old Dry Creek man has been charged with aggravated rape, second-degree battery, battery of a police officer, resisting arrest and home invasion, authorities said.
Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Joe Toler said Christopher L. Bounds was arrested Sunday.
“We received a report very early Sunday morning of a man found in the bedroom with an 8-year-old female,” Toler said in a news release. “Detectives learned that upon discovery the man struck the mother of the child in the face and then fled the residence.”
Toler said Bounds kicked and attempted to bite one of the deputies executing a search warrant for DNA samples.
The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office also reported the following arrests:
• Willie D. Campbell, 30, DeRidder: trespassing, two counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Wendy Maddox, 38, DeRidder: second-offense DWI.
