Cowgirls crush Northern Colorado in tourney

The Cowgirls beat Northern Colorado 12-3 in 4 1/2 innings in a game at the Texas Tech tournament on Friday.
The Cowgirls (13-6) scored five runs in each the second and fourth innings. Katie Roux had three hits, including a fifth-inning home run and a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Emily Vincent, Ashley Modzelwski and Taylor Goree had two hits apiece. Modzelwski drove in three runs. Gore hit a second-inning home run.
Meagan Bond (6-2) pitched four innings, striking out 12 and giving up all three runs, including two home runs. Bianca Lilly pitched the final inning.
Megan Wilkinson took the loss for the Bears (6-8-1).
