Acadiana Profile named Lake Charles “City of the Year” at its 45th anniversary celebration in October.
In February, the publication ran a story titled “Lake Charles: City of the Year” by Laura Claverie, a writer the Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted in 2012 on a culinary press tour.
The article focused on what makes the area successful on a leadership level, and how important community partnerships can be when moving a community toward a brighter future.
“Lake Charles is a city that faced its future, came up with a plan and successfully put it into action,” said Errol Laborde, editor in chief of Acadiana Profile.
“Because of this staggering industrial growth, while retaining a good quality of life, Acadiana Profile magazine named Lake Charles its City of the Year.”
