We've had a few unseasonably gorgeous days lately here in the Pacific Northwest, and today is no exception. It's a beautiful Saturday, and don't think it's lost on anybody.
Earlier I stopped at a drive-thru coffee shop, and the young woman who took my order asked if I was enjoying the sunshine.
Yes, I told her. If the weather were like this all the time in Oregon, we'd have to put a fence around the state to keep it from being overrun.
We've been lucky lately. You could tell she considered it a rare treat.
"It's perfect. I could just stand here all day," she said, "and feel good about life."
A powerful statement, the more you think about it, and a reminder of the role sunlight plays in our mood, especially during the winter months.
