State police will take part in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

The initiative provides a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the public on the potential for medication abuse. 

Expired, unused and unwanted medications may be taken to Troop D, 805 Main St., for disposal.

The service is free and anonymous.
