The American Press is giving away five $100 gift cards to Dick's Sporting Goods.

To enter the contest, simply submit a comment for this story. To be considered a valid entry, you must include your name, home address, phone number and email address in the comment.

No purchase is necessary and you do not have to be an American Press subscriber or Lake Charles resident to participate. Please enter as many times as you like.

Your comments will not be posted to our website and your personal information will not be shared with any other company.

The contest ends at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16. We will randomly select five winners from the valid entries on Wednesday and announce the results here on the website. We will also contact the winners by email or phone.

Winners can pick up their prizes at the American Press office, 4900 U.S. 90 East, Lake Charles, La., or we can mail the card to you.

American Press employees and their families are ineligible to participate in the contest. A person cannot win more than one card but there can be more than one winner per household.

Founded in 1948 by Richard ''Dick'' Stack, Dick's Sporting Goods has expanded to become one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the world. The company's newest location, and sixth in Louisiana, is at the Prien Lake Mall, 542 W. Prien Lake Road, in Lake Charles.

Dick's Sporting Goods is hosting a grand opening celebration this weekend at its Lake Charles store. From 12:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Liz and Jessica Cavalier from the History Channel's "Swamp People" will make an in-store appearance.
