Crime Roundup: Authorities make several drug-related arrests

Five men are facing attempt and conspiracy charges following a slew of drug-related arrests Monday by multiple law enforcement agencies in Southwest Louisiana.

According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Sergio Reyes Castillo, Alvin Smith III, Steven Thomas Mitchell, James Celestine and Jarrid James Hargrave were arrested Monday.

Castillo, 47, 5101 US 90 West, Apt. 2, Vinton, was charged with 80 counts of attempt and conspiracy. He is being held without bond.

Smith III, 24, 5115 US 90 West, Vinton, was charged with eight counts of attempt and conspiracy. His bond was set at $3,200,000.

Mitchell, 40, 1613 Stevenson St., Vinton, was charged with six counts of attempt and conspiracy, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a weapon during commission of a crime or in presence of CDS. His bond was set at $2,100,500.

Celestine,32, 4 Sherwood Drive, No. 19, Sulphur, was charged with two counts of attempt and conspiracy. His bond was set at $650,000.

Hargrave, 33, 825 East 1st St., No. 25, Crowley, was charged with one counts of attempt and conspiracy. His bond was set at 300,000.



The following are other drug-related arrests made on Monday:

• Lazaro Perez Cribeiro, 50, 1217 North St., Vinton — seven counts of drug possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $2,800,000.

Phillis Marie Shelton, 53, 3505 Quibodeaux Road, Sulphur — two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-offense marijuana possession, illegal possession of a weapon during commission of a crime or in presence of CDS. Bond: $701,000.

Brian Keith Hebert, 51, 331 Texas Eastern Road, Ragley — drug possession with intent to distribute, two counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $610,000.

John Ellis Dunn, 47, 111 S. Charlois Drive, Ragley — drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $600,000.

Samuel Marx Ackel, 54, 648 Phillips St., Sulphur — three counts of creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory, four counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, two counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, . Bond: $450,000.

Jenee Lynn Hargrave, 27, 116 Bergeron Lane, Carencro — three counts of drug possession, introducing contraband into a penal institution, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $67,500.

Latonya Denise Levias, 24, 296 Holly St., Vinton — drug possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $15,000.

Roderick Keith Hawkins, 36, 702 East St., Vinton — drug possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $10,000.

Luke Elridge Hanks, 38, 648 Phillips St., Sulphur — two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $6,000.

David Joel Doyle, 28, 213 Burgin Road, Starks — drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $5,000.




The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

Jeffery Allen Duplechin, 30, 705 S. Irwin St., Sulphur — theft over $1,500. Bond: $5,000.

Nicole Renee Perkins, 1017 Louise St. — resisting an officer, disturbing the peace. Bond: $2,000.

James Kevin Butler, 33, 1119 Pear St. — violations of protective orders. Bond: $1,500.

Clemente Calderon-Medina, 36, Port Arthur, Texas — injuring public records, unlawful use of license.
