Crime Roundup: Lake Charles sex offender arrested

A 58-year-old Lake Charles man, a registered sex offender, is back in jail.

According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Mark Wayne Paul was arrested by city police Saturday night in the 2400 block of Broad Street.

Paul, 2132 11th St., was convicted of forcible rape in October 1999 and failure to register as a sex offender in 2009 and 2011.

He has been charged with failure to register as a sex offender, failure to comply with sex offender identification requirements and disturbing the peace.

Bond was set at $14,000.



Arrest Reports

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

• Jose Rodriquez, 40, 3020 Legion St. — first-offense illegal carrying of weapons, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, terrorizing, resisting an officer. Bond: $235,000.

• Stormy Blake Thompson, 17, 2826 Miller Ave. — two counts of first-offense illegal carrying of weapons, theft of a firearm, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, unauthorized use of an access card under$500, possession of stolen firearms. Bond: $180,000.

• Damien Damon Allen, 35, 506 N. Simmons St. — aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bond: $175,000.

• Jerry Charles Leblanc, 20, 921 Clarence St., No. 9 — theft $500 to $1,500, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Bond: $125,000.

• Thomas Jude Billings, 32, 408 University Drive — two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, battery of a correctional facility employee. Bond: $90,000.

• Mochum Macisaac Burton, 21, 1104 Arkansas St. — drug possession, first-offense marijuana possession, no license, possession of drug paraphernalia, non-moving violation. Bond: $78,000.

• Timothy Dale Edwards Collins, 22, 2960 Lake St., No. 175 — two counts of public intimidation and retaliation, resisting an officer, disturbing the peace. Bond: $57,500.

• Freddie Lee Bryant, 22, 2320 10th St. — two counts of armed robbery, resisting an officer. Bond: $50,500.

• John Henry Baker Jr., 41, 909 N. Simmons St. — two counts of armed robbery. Bond: $50,000.

• Geremy Dwayne Hensley, 34, 1020 Orange St. — drug possession, obscenity, resisting an officer. Bond: $35,000.

• Jerry Lee Maricle, 49, 2253 Edgerly DeQuincy Road, Vinton — second-degree battery, aggravated battery, public intimidation and retaliation. Bond: $35,000.

• Larry John Bunting, 59, 2869 La. 3063, Vinton — simple burglary, theft of petroleum products, criminal trespass, simple cruelty to animals. Bond: $28,500.

• Victor Desean Frank, 23, 2517 20th St. — violation of protective orders. Bond: $25,000.

• Andre S. Brown, 32, 2907 General Mitchell Drive — aggravated second-degree battery. Bond: $20,000.

• Michael Dawayne Jacobs, 32, 206 W. Hale St. — two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $10,500.

• Jahvon Laval Gallien, 27, 1606 16th St. — theft $300 to $500, misrepresentation during booking, three counts of direct contempt of court. Bond: $10,000.

• Grant Dwayne Young, 37, 3010 Deaton St. — drug possession, suspended license, no proof of insurance, open-container violation, failure to signal. Bond: $9,000.

• Raymond Frederick Thisius, 63, 217 Richard St. — criminal trespass, theft over $500. Bond: $6,000.

• Alyssa Lauren Breaux, 23, 5000 Leon Drive, Lot 193 — drug possession. Bond: $5,000.

• Robert Slaydon, 17, 700 N. Grand Ave., DeQuincy — simple burglary, theft over $500, simple criminal damage to property under $500, possession of stolen things over $500. Bond: $5,000.

• Kellen Irvin Durio, 30, 412 S. Sherman St., Iowa — issuing worthless checks over $1,500. Bond: $5,000.

• Jacobie Davonte Lede, 18, 2127 2nd St. — two counts of armed robbery, resisting an officer, domestic abuse battery, criminal mischief, battery of a police officer, simple burglary, theft $500 to $1,500, contributing to child delinquency, armed robbery, home invasion, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

• Nicholas James Sonnier, 28, 1320 Lewis St., Sulphur — domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, battery of a police officer, simple criminal damage to property $500 to $50,000, resisting an officer.

• Dwinelen Maria Smith, 26, 518 Franklin St. — aggravated second-degree battery.

• Kenneth Bryant Jr., 22, 701 16th St. — aggravated flight from an officer, obstruction of justice, first-offense marijuana possession, illegal carrying of weapons in presence of drugs, improper display of plates.

• Chad Joseph Moore, 42, 127 Andrew Young Road, Sulphur — drug possession, failure to signal.

• Samuel Stuart Norwood, 19, 318 Phils Lane — simple escape, theft under $500, disturbing the peace.

• Alvin Prudhomme, 52, 1408 Dautel St. — second-offense DWI.

• Monica Maricle Scarborough, 41, 6705 Bonne Meadow Lane — drug possession, two counts of theft under $500.
