Man uses counterfeit money at casino

A Lake Charles man was arrested Monday after he tried to buy into a poker game at a Lake Area casino using a counterfeit $100 bill, state police said. 

Jarred Blakey, 28, was charged with 10 counts of monetary instrument abuse and one count of marijuana possession. 

Sgt. James Anderson said Blakey had more counterfeit bills on his person, as well as marijuana in a pocket and in his hotel room. He said Blakey also used counterfeit money on Sunday.

Blakey was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Bond was set at $105,000.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

Mary Margaret Brignac, 18, 3517 McKinley St. — two counts of drug possession. Bond: $5,000.

Roberto Colon Jr., 22, 1714 Legion St. — two counts of drug possession. Bond: $5,000.

J’Kristopher Demond Scott, 18, 2232 Rose St. — two counts of drug possession, marijuana possession. Bond: $6,000.

Bradley Blake Edwards, 45, 3403 E. Broad St., No. 1 — drug possession. Bond: $7,500.

John Michael Thomason, 20, 1106 Shady Lane, Westlake — aggravated second-degree battery, hit-and-run, hate crimes. Bond: $65,000.

Edward N. Bolton, 30, 2423 12th St. — simple burglary, theft under $750. Bond: $6,500. 

Corey Gene Kallenbach, 26, 1735 Foreman Road, Ragley — drug paraphernalia. Bond: $7,500.

Eric E. Dickinson, 34, Nacogdoches, Texas — probation violation. Bond: $15,000.

Mark Clayton Smith, 53, 2101 Pujol Road, No. 507 — domestic abuse battery.

Cameron Mcpayne, 36, 7529 Ling Road — simple burglary, theft of goods $500-$1,500, simple property damage $500-$50,000, contributing to juvenile delinquency. Bond: $21,500. 

Rosco Wayne Hassell, 17, 516 Laurel St. — simple property damage $500-$50,000, simple burglary, theft of goods over $500, contributing to juvenile delinquency. Bond: $21,500.

Albert Ernesto Guevara, 40, Houston — domestic abuse battery, simple battery.

Anthony Wayne Baker, 50, 3619 Texas St., Lot 118 — aggravated battery, possession of firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes, illegal use of weapons. Bond: $50,000.

Jason Everette Pelt, 40, 807 Isabella Drive, Sulphur — domestic abuse battery. 

Davanna Tripps, 43, 1612 York Town Drive — second-degree cruelty to juveniles. Bond: $50,000.

John Orphey, 40, 2333 Polat St., No. 28 — domestic abuse battery pregnant victim.

Tony Lee Dean Jr., 18, 1004 Clyde St. — two counts of theft of goods $500-$1,500. Bond: $15,000. 

Samuel Fitzgerald Epolite, 47, 2015 Martha St. — unauthorized motor vehicle, two counts of contempt of court. Bond: $5,000.

Steve Randall Soileau III, 24, 1490 Joe Miller Road, No. 3 — domestic abuse battery.
