McNeese (35-11, 16-3 SLC) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a bases loaded-walk by Taylor Goree that scored Alanna DiVittorio.

After 312 scoreless innings, McNeese added two runs on three hits in the fifth inning, extending the lead to 3-0. Hits by Emily Vincent, Modzelewski and Taylor Goree sparked the inning, as well as a RBI sacrifice fly by senior Marissa Koetting.

McNeese extended its lead with two runs in the sixth inning. Walks by DiVittorio and Lagner set up a Modzelewski double to left center, scoring both DiVittorio and Langner for the 5-0 lead.

McNeese has two SLC road series left on the schedule, the first being next week at Sam Houston State. The Cowgirls conclude the regular season at Nicholls on May 4-5.

The Southland Conference Tournament is scheduled for May 9-11 in Natchitoches.””
