Louisiana Tech starting pitcher Trevor Peterson (0-2) takes the loss for the Bulldogs after pitching 6.1 innings allowing two runs on six hits while walking no one.

“Blake did a great job today picking up another complete shutout which is what we needed as a team,” said Burrows. “This gives the bullpen more confidence especially after losing one of our guys yesterday and having a tough outing in the doubleheader on Wednesday.”

The Cowboys managed to put together six hits and one walk in the game, also getting hit by one pitches. Shortstop Connor Lloyd and catcher Cameron Toole had both of McNeese’s RBI, while the Pokes also got hits from second baseman Tyler Klouser, right fielder Matt Williams, with center fielder Andrew Guillotte getting a double in the game.

McNeese got on board in the sixth inning with two outs as Lloyd, who led the team with two hits, drove in Klouser on a single to right field to put the Cowboys into the lead for the first time this series.

On the next play, Toole, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI, doubled down the left field line sending Williams home giving the Cowboys a 2-0 lead.

“We shook the lineup up a little today which, in turn, got us some hits and then some runs,” said Burrows. “I’m happy with the way we were able to swing the bat today and get some hits.”””msu-logo-11-27-13
