Cowboys survive, advance

CONWAY, Ark. — Moss Bluff's Andrew Guillotte’s triple in the bottom of the eighth scored what proved to be the winning run as McNeese State stayed alive in the Southland Conference baseball tournament today.

Guillotte’s shot highlighted a two-run inning and propelled the Cowboys to a 7-5 victory over Texas A&M Corpus Christie.

The loss eliminated the Islanders while McNeese advanced to play host Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. tonight.

The Cowboys have lost all four meetings with the Bears this year.
