VINTON — The field is set for the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot on Saturday.
Ten 2-year-olds will vie for the $600,000 first-place prize and 10 points toward a possible starting position in the Kentucky Derby.
On Tuesday, the final entries were set and the post positions were drawn for the 11th running of the 1 1/16-mile race.
The morning-line favorite, Coastline, has 5-2 odds and will start from the second gate. Coastline will be ridden by jockey Shaun Brigmohan and is trained by Mark Casse. Coastline won the Street Sense Stakes on Oct. 27 at Churchill Downs in his last outing.
Casse will have a chance to become the first trainer to win the Jackpot twice, having won it with Turf War in 2007.
Rise Up is the second favorite, holding 3-1 odds. Rise Up won the Jean Lafitte Stakes at Delta Downs on Oct. 26.
Casiguapo, ridden by Luis Saez and trained by Mario Morales, opened at 4-1 odds, making him the third choice.
Trainer Doug O’Neill, who won last year’s Jackpot with Goldencents, will look to win in back-to-back years, with fourth favorite Rum Point, who has 5-1 odds. It will be Rum Point’s second run on dirt after placing 12th in last month’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita.
