VICE CHANCELLOR WORKFORCE
The primary role of the Vice Chancellor for Workforce Solutions is to oversee the operations related to workforce/economic development, customized/contract training, continuing education, certain credit programs, and other business/industry related customized/contract/non-credit related programs and training. The Vice Chancellor of Workforce Solutions provides the leadership necessary to create and establish business and industry partnerships that help ensure the College remains aware of the workforce needs of the region and provides the relevant programs and services necessary to meet those needs.
A minimum of a Master’s degree (Doctorate degree preferred) and five years administrative experience in postsecondary education and a background in customized/contract training, continuing education, workforce development, safety, security and facilities planning and maintenance.
•Works with all of the workforce/economic development agencies in Louisiana to determine training needs of the workforce and to develop training programs that address these needs
•Plans, schedules, arranges, and communicates plans for customized training activities including fiscal, physical, and human resources needed to support these activities
•Schedules, arranges, and attends meetings with employers from businesses, industries, and governmental agencies to discuss current training needs and available training resources
•Writes applications and proposals, negotiates contracts, completes reports, supervises billing, and maintains documents for all programs funded by grants, special governmental funding, or employer reimbursement
•Works collaboratively with the LCTCS Office of Workforce Development to ensure campus programs and services are consistent with system level expectations
•Works in conjunction with LED FastStart to help ensure that workforce development training programs are delivered in a timely manner to business and industry clients and prospects within the region
•Establishes relationships with other workforce training providers in the region in order to ensure create a more comprehensive workforce training plan
