A judge in state district court found a woman guilty of dipping her 2-year-old son in scalding water.

Lan Huyhl Le, 29, stood trial on a charge of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. Prosecutors alleged she put the boy in the water, while she contended that the boy got in the water himself.

The boy had third-degree sock burns that rose 5 ½ to 6 inches up both legs. He had to have skin grafts on both legs. Prosecutors argued that the burns were too even for the boy to have climbed in himself.

Judge Ron Ware made the ruling Wednesday afternoon, ending the six-day trial. Le requested a bench trial rather than a jury trial.

That is terrible what she did to that poor little child. She should have given him back if she didn't want him. She should be made to sit in boiling water. To do that to a sweet baby is unthinkable.
