The 2013 Business Summit and Showcase will be 5-8 p.m. today, Nov. 7, in the Jean Lafitte Room of the Lake Charles Civic Center.
The event will offer small and emerging contractors information on a vast array of topics to help improve multiple aspects of their businesses.
Eligha Guillory Jr., assistant city administrator, said the event is an easy way for local small businesses to get the information they need to succeed.
“It’s a one-stop shop for small businesses, and they can get information on different programs and initiatives that are available to them,” he said.
The event will focus on how small businesses can improve their credit, capital, capacity and credibility — aspects that are highly considered by project owners, banks, insurance and surety companies.
Those in attendance will have a chance to talk with industry and bank representatives and purchasing agents.
Workshop presentations will be given by state and local procurement agents and business leaders.
