BOSSIER CITY (AP) — The Bossier City Police Department and the Bossier Parish District Attorney's office have determined that an officer-involved shooting in which a man was killed last month was justified.
The dead man had pulled a gun from his waistband that turned out to be a toy.
The report said 58-year-old Larry Allan Jerrils of Walker, Michigan, had shown the phony gun to employees of a shoe store he robbed on June 12. The employees thought it was real.
Jerrils had run from store when two police officers entered.
One officer caught up with Jerrils and grabbed him by the hand. Jerrils then turned toward the officers and pulled the fake weapon from his waistband. Both officers fired at him. He died at the scene.

Title: The dead man?
According to this article the man was already dead when he pulled his weapon on the officers. Of course it was justified, if a dead man pulled a gun on me I would want to shoot him too.
