Faith, family and community have been celebrated at the St. Theresa Bon Ton Festival in Carlyss for more than three decades.

This year’s festival will run Friday through Sunday, Sept. 20-22, at the church, at 4822 Carlyss Drive.

Live music, carnival rides and a variety of culinary treats will be available at the festival, which will also include bingo games, live and silent auctions, a country store, sweet shop and garage sale.

There will be a covered pavilion with plenty of room for dancing, eating and visiting. There is also a 5K run for children and a petting zoo.

The musical lineup will be headlined by Brad Brinkley and Comfort Zone on Friday and Barry Badon and the Bayou Boys on Saturday.

Live entertainment will begin at 7 p.m. each night.

Among the items available at the auctions are a date-night package; a crawfish pot, including burner and accessories; four rounds of golf at Gray Plantation; two LSU rocking chairs; jewelry; gift cards; and decorative items.

All auction items were donated to the festival.

“The community plays a big part in the festival. A lot of people come out, not just people from the church,” said Ann Guidry, an office manager-bookkeeper at the church.

“They look forward to the festival every year because it is good, clean fun. There is something for everyone, and we get a lot of people from the area. It is a good community event.”

Proceeds from the festival are used to support the church. An outdoor Mass will be at 4 p.m. Saturday under the pavilion.
