“It was a very good year for us,” said Barbe head bowling coach James Kelly. “To be able to play for a championship with a young team is great.”

Barbe finished the year 15-1 with five sophomores and one junior.

“We will be back,” said Kelly.

It was not the first time Barbe and Rummel met in the state championship in a sport.

The Bucs beat Rummel to win the 5A baseball championship last spring and lost to the Raiders in the 5A football title game.””
