SHREVEPORT (AP) — Caddo deputies say a 57-year-old Shreveport woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from her employer, which she later gambled away.
Sheriff Steve Prator says Martha Clark was arrested for theft following an investigation by Detective Bobby Herring.
Prator says Clark admitted stealing over $11,000 from Shreveport's County Market, where she worked as a bookkeeper. However, detectives are investigating a total loss of over $89,000 reported by the company.
The money includes missing deposits and change from the bank used for the store's daily operations.
Prator says Clark is currently on probation for stealing $10,000 from her previous employer, Pinehill Water Works.
It could not be determined whether Clark had an attorney.
